A neomycin selection cassette was inserted into exon 5. Northern blot analysis on RNA derived from kidney of homozygous mice demonstrated that no detectable transcript is produced from this allele. Immunohistochemistry experiments on kidney sections from homozygous mice confirmed that no detectable protein is made. (J:37963)
