A neomycin cassette was inserted into exon 3, into sequences encoding the region after the first putative transmembrane domain of the receptor. A 209 bp segment of the coding region is also deleted. Northern blot analysis demonstrated that no transcript is produced from this allele in homozygous female or hemizygous male mice. (J:29456)
