This mutation eliminates expression of the somatic isoform of the protein but does not affect expression of the testicular isoform. A short genomic fragment extending from the beginning of exon 10 to intron 10 was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette in the oppostie transcriptional orientation to the gene. (J:46177)
