Enables integrin binding activity. Involved in several processes, including gonad development; negative regulation of focal adhesion assembly; and response to odorant. Located in cytoplasm. Used to study ischemia. Biomarker of IgA glomerulonephritis; anti-basement membrane glomerulonephritis; artery disease (multiple); brain ischemia; and congestive heart failure. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in Winchester syndrome; esophagus adenocarcinoma; and myocardial infarction. Orthologous to human MMP14 (matrix metallopeptidase 14).
