Atf2 - activating transcription factor 2

Enables cAMP response element binding activity. Involved in several processes, including amelogenesis; positive regulation of neuron apoptotic process; and regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Located in nucleus. Used to study hypertension and transient cerebral ischemia. Biomarker of glaucoma and transient cerebral ischemia. Orthologous to human ATF2 (activating transcription factor 2).
