Enables peptide-lysine-N-acetyltransferase activity and transcription coactivator activity. Involved in peptidyl-lysine acetylation and positive regulation of autophagy. Acts upstream of or within positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Part of transcription regulator complex. Is expressed in several structures, including central nervous system; eye; genitourinary system; hemolymphoid system gland; and limb. Orthologous to human KAT5 (lysine acetyltransferase 5).
