Involved in several processes, including cellular response to lipid; positive regulation of macromolecule metabolic process; and regulation of inclusion body assembly. Located in chromatin; cytoplasm; and nucleus. Used to study Parkinson's disease; muscular atrophy; and transient cerebral ischemia. Biomarker of Alzheimer's disease; Parkinson's disease; congestive heart failure; cryptorchidism; and transient cerebral ischemia. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in Huntington's disease.
