Acts upstream of or within copper ion import across plasma membrane; iron ion import across cell outer membrane; and iron ion import across plasma membrane. Located in endosome and plasma membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including brain; gut; metanephros; reproductive system; and respiratory system. Orthologous to human STEAP2 (STEAP2 metalloreductase).
