Involved in exocytic insertion of neurotransmitter receptor to postsynaptic membrane and vesicle-mediated transport in synapse. Acts upstream of or within long-term synaptic potentiation. Located in several cellular components, including glutamatergic synapse; neuronal cell body; and synaptic vesicle membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including brain; genitourinary system; liver; lung; and spleen. Orthologous to human SNAP47 (synaptosome associated protein 47).
