Enables epoxide hydrolase activity; magnesium ion binding activity; and phosphatase activity. Involved in several processes, including linoleic acid metabolic process; prostaglandin production involved in inflammatory response; and sensory perception of pain. Located in cytosol and peroxisome. Used to study cerebral infarction; hypertension; and pulmonary hypertension. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in coronary artery disease; familial hypercholesterolemia; and hypertension. Orthologous to human EPHX2 (epoxide hydrolase 2).
