Located in several cellular components, including apical plasma membrane; external side of plasma membrane; and sarcolemma. Colocalizes with caveola and perinuclear region of cytoplasm. Used to study hepatocellular carcinoma and high grade glioma. Biomarker of several diseases, including acute necrotizing pancreatitis; cerebrovascular disease (multiple); fascioliasis; fatty liver disease; and renal tubular acidosis.
