Enables enzyme inhibitor activity. Involved in several processes, including maternal process involved in parturition; negative regulation of complement activation; and spermatogenesis. Located in apical plasma membrane. Used to study neuroblastoma and proteinuria. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in prostate cancer and protein-losing enteropathy.
