Enables enzyme inhibitor activity. Involved in negative regulation of apoptotic process; negative regulation of lipoprotein lipase activity; and triglyceride homeostasis. Acts upstream of or within negative regulation of endothelial cell apoptotic process. Located in extracellular space. Is expressed in several structures, including brain; genitourinary system; hemolymphoid system gland; integumental system; and musculature. Orthologous to human ANGPTL4 (angiopoietin like 4).
