Enables DNA binding activity and transcription corepressor activity. Acts upstream of or within negative regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Located in nucleoplasm. Is expressed in several structures, including brain; early embryo; extraembryonic component; genitourinary system; and nose. Orthologous to human RYBP (RING1 and YY1 binding protein).
