Enables histone deacetylase binding activity and sequence-specific DNA binding activity. Involved in several processes, including cellular response to glucose stimulus; long-term memory; and positive regulation of transcription by glucose. Located in nucleus. Used to study hepatocellular carcinoma and hypertension. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in cardiomyopathy and lymphangioleiomyomatosis. Orthologous to human SRF (serum response factor).
