Involved in several processes, including Rac protein signal transduction; bone resorption; and regulation of cellular biosynthetic process. Located in several cellular components, including Golgi membrane; cytosol; and dendritic spine. Used to study congestive heart failure. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in autosomal dominant mental retardation 48; colon adenocarcinoma; and pancreatic adenocarcinoma. Orthologous to human RAC1 (Rac family small GTPase 1).
