Enables NAD-dependent protein deacetylase activity and tubulin deacetylase activity. Involved in several processes, including nervous system development; regulation of nervous system development; and regulation of postsynaptic neurotransmitter receptor internalization. Located in several cellular components, including Schmidt-Lanterman incisure; lateral loop; and main axon. Is active in glutamatergic synapse. Used to study high grade glioma and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Biomarker of intermittent claudication. Orthologous to human SIRT2 (sirtuin 2).
