Enables GTPase inhibitor activity; diacylglycerol kinase activity; and small GTPase binding activity. Involved in regulation of synaptic vesicle exocytosis. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including chemical synaptic transmission; habituation; and modulation of chemical synaptic transmission. Located in Schaffer collateral - CA1 synapse; glutamatergic synapse; and perinuclear region of cytoplasm. Part of guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor complex. Is expressed in cerebral cortex; cerebral cortex mantle layer; and cerebral cortex marginal layer. Orthologous to human DGKI (diacylglycerol kinase iota).
