Located in several cellular components, including axonal growth cone; cytoplasmic vesicle; and neuronal cell body. Used to study diabetes mellitus. Biomarker of Alzheimer's disease; prostate carcinoma in situ; and sciatic neuropathy. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in Alzheimer's disease; keratosis pilaris atrophicans; myocardial infarction; and sciatic neuropathy.
