Enables glycolipid binding activity. Involved in several processes, including positive regulation of neutrophil chemotaxis; response to fatty acid; and response to hyperoxia. Located in cell surface. Used to study colitis and peripheral vascular disease. Biomarker of abdominal aortic aneurysm; endometriosis; pancreatitis; and toxic shock syndrome. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in Crohn's disease; IgA glomerulonephritis; and ulcerative colitis. Orthologous to human SELL (selectin L).
