Enables endopeptidase activity and signaling receptor binding activity. Involved in several processes, including response to anticoagulant; response to peptide hormone; and response to thyroxine. Located in extracellular space and vesicle. Used to study asthma; diabetes mellitus; and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Biomarker of several diseases, including bilirubin metabolic disorder; familial hyperlipidemia; hypertension; hypothyroidism; and prothrombin deficiency. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including artery disease (multiple); cerebral infarction; diabetes mellitus (multiple); factor VII deficiency; and obesity.
