Located in several cellular components, including axon terminus; dendrite; and postsynaptic density. Is active in glutamatergic synapse. Is integral component of postsynaptic density membrane and integral component of presynaptic membrane. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome; asthma; and myasthenia gravis. Orthologous to human CHRM1 (cholinergic receptor muscarinic 1).
