Is active in several cellular components, including Schaffer collateral - CA1 synapse; postsynaptic actin cytoskeleton; and postsynaptic recycling endosome membrane. Colocalizes with recycling endosome. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in microvillus inclusion disease. Orthologous to human MYO5B (myosin VB).
