Located in several cellular components, including basement membrane; neuromuscular junction; and perinuclear region of cytoplasm. Is active in postsynapse and presynapse. Used to study Parkinson's disease. Biomarker of several diseases, including extrahepatic cholestasis; liver cirrhosis; sciatic neuropathy; transient cerebral ischemia; and visual epilepsy.
