Located in several cellular components, including acrosomal vesicle; focal adhesion; and hemidesmosome. Part of integrin alpha3-beta1 complex and integrin alpha9-beta1 complex. Is active in glutamatergic synapse. Is integral component of postsynaptic membrane. Used to study hydrocephalus and myocardial infarction. Biomarker of glomerulonephritis.
