Enables cytokine activity and interleukin-5 receptor binding activity. Involved in several processes, including positive regulation of B cell proliferation; positive regulation of eosinophil differentiation; and positive regulation of receptor signaling pathway via JAK-STAT. Located in extracellular space. Used to study asthma. Biomarker of several diseases, including allergic rhinitis; esophageal cancer; middle cerebral artery infarction; peptic esophagitis; and prostatic hypertrophy.
