Involved in several processes, including cellular response to Thyroglobulin triiodothyronine; cellular response to estradiol stimulus; and response to peptide hormone. Located in extracellular space; heterochromatin; and platelet alpha granule. Part of insulin-like growth factor binary complex and insulin-like growth factor ternary complex. Used to study impotence. Biomarker of congenital diaphragmatic hernia; impotence; and obesity. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including Alzheimer's disease; Turner syndrome; diabetes mellitus (multiple); prostate cancer; and transitional cell carcinoma.
