Involved in gamma-aminobutyric acid biosynthetic process and response to xenobiotic stimulus. Located in presynaptic active zone. Used to study diabetes mellitus. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in anxiety disorder; bipolar disorder; developmental and epileptic encephalopathy 89; and schizophrenia.
