Enables catalase activity. Involved in several processes, including hydrogen peroxide catabolic process; response to ozone; and response to vitamin. Located in several cellular components, including Golgi apparatus; mitochondrial intermembrane space; and peroxisome. Used to study bacterial pneumonia; brain ischemia; cholestasis; colitis; and lung disease. Biomarker of several diseases, including artery disease (multiple); auditory system disease (multiple); end stage renal disease; eye disease (multiple); and neurodegenerative disease (multiple).
