Enables fructose-bisphosphate aldolase activity and phosphatidylcholine binding activity. Involved in several processes, including cellular response to insulin stimulus; response to copper ion; and response to fructose. Located in several cellular components, including endoplasmic reticulum membrane; lysosome; and perinuclear region of cytoplasm. Used to study type 2 diabetes mellitus. Biomarker of liver benign neoplasm; peritonitis; and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in hereditary fructose intolerance syndrome and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
