Enables connexin binding activity and protein domain specific binding activity. Involved in negative regulation of stress fiber assembly; positive regulation of sprouting angiogenesis; and protein localization to cell-cell junction. Acts upstream of or within blastocyst formation and sensory perception of sound. Located in several cellular components, including apicolateral plasma membrane; bicellular tight junction; and intercellular canaliculus. Part of protein-containing complex. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; early conceptus; genitourinary system; and sensory organ.
