Involved in regulation of long-term neuronal synaptic plasticity and regulation of short-term neuronal synaptic plasticity. Acts upstream of or within cellular response to leukemia inhibitory factor. Predicted to be located in synaptic vesicle. Predicted to be active in neuromuscular junction and synaptic vesicle membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including adrenal gland; central nervous system; genitourinary system; hemolymphoid system gland; and retina. Orthologous to human SYNGR1 (synaptogyrin 1).
