Enables NAD-dependent histone deacetylase activity (H3-K18 specific) and protein-propionyllysine depropionylase activity. Involved in several processes, including homologous chromosome pairing at meiosis; protein deacylation; and regulation of double-strand break repair via nonhomologous end joining. Located in chromatin and site of double-strand break. Is expressed in several structures, including 1st branchial arch maxillary component; central nervous system; eye; gonad; and spleen.
