Involved in several processes, including leukocyte chemotaxis; pericyte cell migration; and positive regulation of osteoclast development. Acts upstream of or within hyaloid vascular plexus regression and positive regulation of cell-matrix adhesion. Located in extracellular region; filopodium membrane; and synaptic membrane. Is integral component of plasma membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including body cavity or lining; central nervous system; eye; genitourinary system; and vertebral axis musculature.
