Involved in several processes, including positive regulation of macromolecule metabolic process; response to virus; and toll-like receptor 7 signaling pathway. Acts upstream of or within positive regulation of interleukin-6 production and regulation of protein phosphorylation. Located in cytoplasmic vesicle; endoplasmic reticulum; and lysosome. Is expressed in brain and liver. Used to study systemic lupus erythematosus. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in COVID-19 and X-Linked immunodeficiency 74.
