Enables intraciliary transport particle B binding activity. Involved in anterograde dendritic transport of neurotransmitter receptor complex; cilium assembly; and vesicle-mediated transport. Located in centrosome; cilium; and dendrite. Part of kinesin II complex. Is expressed in several structures, including central nervous system; gonad; gut; hemolymphoid system gland; and nose. Used to study schizophrenia. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in retinitis pigmentosa 89. Orthologous to human KIF3B (kinesin family member 3B).
