Acts upstream of or within several processes, including lung development; prostate gland development; and regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. Located in microvillus and nucleus. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; genitourinary system; respiratory system; and sensory organ. Orthologous to human FOXA1 (forkhead box A1).
