Involved in several processes, including negative regulation of dendritic spine maintenance; positive regulation of protein targeting to membrane; and positive regulation of tyrosine phosphorylation of STAT protein. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including cellular response to growth factor stimulus; nervous system development; and protein phosphorylation. Located in several cellular components, including Schaffer collateral - CA1 synapse; actin filament; and postsynaptic density. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; central nervous system; cranial nerve; genitourinary system; and sensory organ. Used to study skin disease and skin squamous cell carcinoma. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia.
