Involved in DNA damage response, signal transduction by p53 class mediator resulting in transcription of p21 class mediator; positive regulation of double-strand break repair; and positive regulation of transcription, DNA-templated. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including liver development; positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II; and vasculogenesis. Located in nucleus. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; brain; genitourinary system; respiratory system; and sensory organ.
