Enables ABC-type bile acid transporter activity. Involved in several processes, including anion transport; response to estradiol; and response to lipopolysaccharide. Acts upstream of or within canalicular bile acid transport. Located in basolateral plasma membrane. Biomarker of several diseases, including bilirubin metabolic disorder (multiple); fatty liver disease (multiple); hepatocellular carcinoma; hyperprolactinemia; and kidney disease (multiple).
