Involved in several processes, including axon development; positive regulation of protein kinase activity; and regulation of neuron projection development. Acts upstream of or within adult walking behavior; axon guidance; and nephric duct morphogenesis. Located in several cellular components, including Schaffer collateral - CA1 synapse; early endosome membrane; and glutamatergic synapse. Is integral component of postsynaptic membrane and integral component of presynaptic membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; embryo mesenchyme; genitourinary system; nervous system; and sensory organ. Orthologous to human EPHA4 (EPH receptor A4).
