Involved in several processes, including animal organ regeneration; negative regulation of neuron apoptotic process; and response to lipopolysaccharide. Located in cell surface and plasma membrane. Used to study adult respiratory distress syndrome; amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; neutropenia; obesity; and thrombosis. Biomarker of asthma and lung disease.
