Acts upstream of or within several processes, including cellular response to leukemia inhibitory factor; histone modification; and spermatid nucleus elongation. Located in cytoplasm and nucleus. Is expressed in pituitary gland. Used to study obesity. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in cervical cancer and colon cancer. Orthologous to human KDM3A (lysine demethylase 3A).
