Siderosis

Siderosis, also known as pulmonary siderosis, is related to iron overload in africa and liver cirrhosis. An important gene associated with Siderosis is HFE (Homeostatic Iron Regulator), and among its related pathways/superpathways are Transport of inorganic cations/anions and amino acids/oligopeptides and Regulation of Insulin-like Growth Factor (IGF) transport and uptake by Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Proteins (IGFBPs). The drugs Liver Extracts and Deferasirox have been mentioned in the context of this disorder.
