Protein-Energy Malnutrition (PEM)

Protein-Energy Malnutrition, also known as protein energy malnutrition, is related to marasmus and kwashiorkor, and has symptoms including cachexia and emaciation. An important gene associated with Protein-Energy Malnutrition is ALB (Albumin), and among its related pathways/superpathways are Regulation of Insulin-like Growth Factor (IGF) transport and uptake by Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Proteins (IGFBPs) and Embryonic and Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells and Lineage-specific Markers.
