Megacolon

Megacolon, also known as dilatation of colon, is related to goldberg-shprintzen syndrome and hirschsprung disease 1. An important gene associated with Megacolon is SOX10 (SRY-Box Transcription Factor 10), and among its related pathways/superpathways are Sympathetic Nerve Pathway (Pre- and Post- Ganglionic Junction) and Acetylcholine synthesis. The drugs Bisacodyl and Laxatives have been mentioned in the context of this disorder.
