Meconium Ileus (MECIL)

Meconium Ileus, also known as intestinal obstruction in the newborn due to guanylate cyclase 2c deficiency, is related to ileus and cystic fibrosis, and has symptoms including bowel spasm and gastric distention. An important gene associated with Meconium Ileus is GUCY2C (Guanylate Cyclase 2C). The drugs Lidocaine and Gabapentin have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include colon and liver, and related phenotypes are meconium ileus and chronic diarrhea
