Hereditary Optic Neuropathy is related to leber optic atrophy and dystonia and optic atrophy 7 with or without auditory neuropathy. An important gene associated with Hereditary Optic Neuropathy is MT-ND4 (Mitochondrially Encoded NADH:Ubiquinone Oxidoreductase Core Subunit 4), and among its related pathways/superpathways are Metabolism and Respiratory electron transport, ATP synthesis by chemiosmotic coupling, and heat production by uncoupling proteins.. The drugs Idebenone and Antioxidants have been mentioned in the context of this disorder. Affiliated tissues include eye and bone marrow.
